Amusing anecdotes & random ramblings
The OTHER project that’s taken up a lot of our lives this year…
As of this moment, Project WeaponX (ask HyperHam, she decided on the name!) is due for delivery 15 January, 2011.
Mother is doing as well as can be expected – but tips for combatting morning sickness would be *highly* appreciated!

When ping doesn't get you much pong
Yahoo! Ping Pong-23 Originally uploaded by Ping London (In other words, great, you got sponsorship, where’s the return?) Across London, ping pong tables have sprouted up to encourage Londoners to have a go at ping pong/whiff whaff. All nicely decorated with the various sponsors’ logos, including Yahoo! Accompanying these tables are some leaflets about the

I just got married to HyperHam, the most wonderful woman in the world. And I couldn’t be happier. Woot!
How difficult can it be to hire a suit?
So, the time has come to try and hire a posh suit. I can’t be the only male who has to hire a posh suit and yet hates the entire experience of shopping for clothes – so you’d have thought the male tailors would have tried to make it as easy as possible. But oh
The trouble with co-habitation #41
is that when HyperHam says she wants to go to a two-day musical theatre festival in the heart of what we call London, we go to said musical theatre festival. Thus meaning, the news about a vintage computer orgy with OMD as the headline act completely passed me by. As did the news about the
A snippet of life in the household
I am using an ancient tiny Celeron laptop to try and surf the modern Internet, with all its social media widgets and Flash files. Hyperham is using a modern fast Intel dual-core laptop to play Dungeon Keeper 2, a classic game from 1998.. All while Eddie Izzard is talking about flags on Channel 4…
What should I blog about next?
Having had a somewhat hectic long weekend around Paris, what should I blog about next? [polldaddy poll=3087337]
One rule for the BBC, another for commercial broadcasters?
You’d have thought that linking from a website to another website would be a basic principle in building websites. Even the BBC seems to agree – its’ latest Strategy Review states that “BBC Online will be transformed into a window on the web with, by 2012, an external link on every page and at least
Why America needed health reform…
So finally, at long last, America has joined the rest of the world in offering near-universal healthcare to its’ citizens, instead of relying on a hodgepodge of private health insurance coverage. And about bloody time too, if my brief peek into the world of American healthcare was anything to go by. HyperHam and I were

Ever since Hyperham moved in, life has pretty much been a non-stop whirlwind of relaxing on the sofa watching Dave, running around London, trash-talking each other and endlessly re-arranging stuff in the flat without actually deciding on anything. And tripping over socks and cables. It hasn’t helped that we’re also in the midst of some

Ah, so *that's* why you got married…
Congratulations, both x

Actually, it was for the British Government. You have to get married within six months of entry on a fiance visa.
Oh, and because we're in love or something sappy like that.

You have to get married within six months of entry on a fiance? Well, pregnancy is inevitable! Congratulations on both wedding and offspring.

I found ginger ale worked wonders for my nausea (though mine was always from 3pm). And come the second and third trimesters, a glass of milk before bed to reduce the heartburn (and HH should lie on her left side – reduces ability of stomach acids to go upwards and cause heartburn, and encourages baby into a good position).
And congratulations!
