The Waters of Mars…
Well, that was definitely a very scary and chilling episode of Doctor Who meeting 28 Days Later. Either that or I’m just so proud of myself for not gibbering and hiding behind the sofa. My jumbled random thoughts after the jump…
- An episode of Classic Who – with a small group of people being possessed by an unknown…
- I loved how it emphasised the ‘continuity’ of time, the inevitability of fate, and how even the Doctor can’t stop it.
- Loved the references to the “oil apocalypse”
- Not so sure about the momentary reference to The Stolen Earth, although the idea that even Daleks wouldn’t fiddle with the fixed moments in time…
- It all seemed so … plausible.
- When the Doctor turned renegade at the end – very chilling. But if nobody can stop the Doctor, who can stop Russell T Davies?
- It’s a shame they didn’t push it further, by perhaps having the Doctor having to personally detonate the rocket to ensure Earth’s survival. But then I suppose he already provoked a disaster in The Fires of Pompeii
- What if the Flood creatures evolved to become Ice Warriors?
- or maybe, that’s why the Ice Warriors are covered from head to toe? To stop the Flood water parasites from getting in…
